Ten Years of Help—One Month to Be Erased

For a decade, I covered my parents’ mortgage—no complaints, no conditions. It felt like the right thing to do.
When I got married, I said I couldn’t continue. They thanked me, said they were proud.
I believed them.
A month later, I found out they removed me from the will—right after I stopped paying. They even told others I had abandoned them.
10 years. $120,000. Gone.
I didn’t argue. I walked away.
A year later, they lost the house… and started calling me again for help.
I let it ring.
Lesson: Loyalty isn’t always returned—and boundaries matter.
