I Was Accused of Being Too Heavy for a Flight and Invited to Leave the Plane
It was a routine flight, or so I thought. As I buckled in, the stewardess approached, her face tight with concern. “We need to discuss your seat,” she said, barely meeting my eyes.
I was confused. “What’s wrong?”
“They say the weight distribution is off. You’re too heavy for the flight.”
I froze. The words stung. I had never been told something so bluntly, especially not in front of so many people.
A supervisor arrived soon after, offering no apology. “We’ll have to ask you to leave the plane.”
My heart raced. I could feel the eyes of the passengers on me. With no choice, I exited the plane, humiliated, as the flight took off without me. A mistake, they said later, but by then, the damage was done.
