What every grandparent should keep in mind about family and the legacy they leave behind

Last week, I took my grandchildren out to dinner when my 6-year-old grandson politely asked to say grace before eating.
He bowed his head and thanked God for our meal, our family, and even dessert.
Some nearby diners smiled…
But one person muttered that prayer didn’t belong in public.
My grandson looked at me, heartbroken, wondering if he had done something wrong.
Before I could respond, an elderly man stood up, walked over, and told him:
“Never be ashamed to show gratitude.”
Later, while eating ice cream, my grandson quietly walked to the person who criticized him… and offered them some of his dessert with a smile.
In that moment, he taught everyone at that restaurant a lesson:
Kindness speaks louder than judgment.
