💔 I Went to My Son’s Wedding… and Left Before It Ended
I recently attended my son’s wedding to a woman I barely knew. Since they live out of state, I met her only days before the ceremony — and from the start, there was tension, including jokes about my vegan lifestyle.
At the reception, there was no assigned seating, so I sat at a table marked “vegan option.” When the food arrived, the vegetables looked spoiled. I asked for a simple salad, but was told I’d have to pay extra because only one vegetarian meal had been ordered.
Humiliated and unwelcome, I decided to leave. That’s when my son stopped me and said, “If you leave now, forget us.” Heartbroken, I told him I came to support him — but I wouldn’t stay where I felt disrespected.
Now, two weeks later, he hasn’t contacted me. I don’t want to lose my son… but I won’t lose my self-respect either.
