Panic erupted before sunrise when a Michigan hospital suddenly became a crime scene. Staff rushed to hide as police stormed Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, searching for an armed suspect familiar with the building.
Authorities say a 25-year-old employee was ambushed in the parking lot and shot twice in a targeted workplace attack. The hospital went into lockdown as officers secured the campus and issued a shelter-in-place order.
The victim is now in stable condition, but for staff who hid behind locked doors waiting for answers, the fear of that morning won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
