Tragedy on the East River: Mexican Navy Ship Crashes Into Brooklyn Bridge

A peaceful evening turned chaotic when the Mexican Navy tall ship Cuauhtémoc lost control and slammed into the Brooklyn Bridge. The 297-foot vessel, carrying 277 people, suffered a mechanical failure shortly after leaving Manhattan, leaving two crew members dead and 19 injured.
