I Suspected My Kids Were Stealing from Me — but the Hidden Camera Revealed the Person I Least Expected

For weeks, money kept disappearing from my wallet — $5, $40, then $300 overnight.

I thought one of my teenagers was stealing from me. Heartbroken, I installed a hidden camera in the hallway for answers.

The footage shocked me.

At 2:07 a.m., it wasn’t my kids. It was my husband.

I followed him the next night and watched as he drove to a struggling dog shelter across town. He’d been secretly using the cash to buy food, blankets, and supplies for abandoned puppies he found weeks earlier.

His heart was in the right place — but instead of telling me, he let me believe our children were thieves.

Lesson learned: even good intentions can damage trust when they’re kept in the dark.
