The Five-Dollar Clue She Left Behind

The night before my 16-year-old best friend disappeared, she gave me $5 and said, “I owe you.” It felt random, so I didn’t think much of it.

Three weeks later, I noticed tiny writing on the bill:
“Locker 312. Don’t trust him.”

My heart raced. That was her locker.

I went to school early and checked behind the metal panel where she used to hide things. Inside, I found an envelope with my name on it.

Her letter said an older man had been following and threatening her. She was too scared to tell anyone. If something happened, she wanted me to go to the police.

So I did.

They moved fast. Messages, footage, and fake accounts were uncovered.

Two days later, they found her—shaken, but alive.

She later told me the $5 bill was the only way she could warn me without being noticed.

I still keep it.

Because that small bill didn’t just mean money.

It saved her life. 💔❤️
