JOKE OF THE DAY

A worried young mother answered the phone, tears already falling. She poured out her day—baby won’t eat, washing machine broke, sprained ankle, dinner guests coming. On the other end, a kind older woman listened, her voice warm: “Sit down. I’ll help. I’ll shop, clean, cook, even call a repairman.”
Then came the pause. “George? Who’s George?”
The mother realized it wasn’t her mom. A wrong number. But the older woman didn’t hang up. She sensed exhaustion and loneliness in the voice on the line. Thirty minutes later, she arrived with groceries, cleaned the house, fed the baby, and offered comfort.
When the husband came home, the older woman didn’t leave quietly. She confronted him gently about sharing the load, and the next morning, he stepped up, holding the baby and helping his wife for the first time.
A wrong number had become a life-changing act of kindness. Sometimes, help comes when you least expect it—and from people you never imagined.
