My husband made me run his guys’ night even though I was stuck in a neck brace — and then his mother showed up unannounced.

I’m a first-time mom in a neck brace because my husband chose Instagram over the road. While I recovered from the accident he caused, he threatened to cut me off financially.

I’m 33, my husband Jake is 34, and we have a six-month-old daughter. After a pediatrician visit, he was scrolling at a red light and crashed. I was left with severe neck injuries and couldn’t lift my baby or even care for myself.

Instead of understanding, he planned a birthday game night and told me to host. When I said I physically couldn’t, he said not to expect “his money” while I healed. Afraid, I used my savings to clean the house and order food.

During the party, I sat in my neck brace while he joked with friends—until the doorbell rang.

It was his mother.

She took one look and told him to leave. Immediately.

I don’t know what happens next, but for the first time since the accident, I don’t feel trapped.

Karma didn’t yell.

It showed up in a wool coat and said, “Your wife stays. You don’t.
