“A Messy Moment, A Stronger Mom

The Supermarket Moment That Changed How I See Myself as a Single Mom
I was at the supermarket, juggling my crying 7-year-old and groceries, when a woman started filming me and said, “People like you should never have kids!” My son was completely covered in chocolate—clothes, hair, face—the mess was everywhere.
I was mortified, rushing him to the car, feeling all eyes on us. Five years later, I still remember that moment—but now, I see it differently. Raising three kids on my own while working full-time isn’t easy, yet I did it. As single moms, we should give ourselves more credit.
