The Phone Wasn’t Mine—But It Knew Too Much About My Life

After stepping out of the shower, I went to my closet for a dress. It fell to the floor—and that’s when I noticed a phone hidden on a lower shelf, recording for over 18 minutes.

I played the video. At first, it showed me alone in my apartment, unaware. Then the screen went dark and a voice whispered, “You think nobody sees you… but I do.” My heart stopped.

I live alone, always lock my doors, and saw no signs of a break-in. A repair tech later confirmed it was a wiped burner phone, but system logs showed weeks of deleted recordings. Someone had been secretly filming me.

Restored footage revealed my ex-boyfriend, who had become obsessed after our breakup. After installing hidden cameras, we caught him entering my closet at 3:14 a.m. Police arrested him and found multiple phones, notes tracking my routine, and help from a building maintenance worker who gave him access.

Lesson learned: trust your instincts, secure your space, and always check your closet.
If this story shook you, share it—you might help someone stay safe.
