A tragic plane crash in Wyoming has claimed the lives of seven members of the Nelons, a beloved and influential gospel music family. Those killed include Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber, son-in-law Nathan Kistler, family assistant Melanie Hodges, and pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa.
The sole survivor, Autumn Nelon Streetman, shared a heartfelt statement expressing deep grief and gratitude for the overwhelming prayers and support. The Nelons were traveling to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when the aircraft went down, with witnesses reporting the plane crashed in flames.
Inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016, the Nelons were known for timeless gospel songs like “Come Morning” and “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown.” The NTSB investigation is ongoing as the gospel music community mourns this devastating loss and honors their lasting legacy.
