My Spoiled Sister Demanded That My Husband Should Be Hers,

I went back to my childhood home because my father was sick, and the visit reopened painful memories while creating new turmoil. As a child, I was constantly pushed aside for my younger sister, Clara, who was spoiled and always got her way—whether it was my birthday doll, the sundress I worked to buy, or even my first car. Our mother encouraged her behavior, which left me feeling unwanted. At eighteen, I left for college, met Ethan, and started a life of my own, eventually marrying him without including my family.

Years later, news of my father’s heart attack forced me to return. My mother immediately placed the blame on me and demanded I pay the hospital expenses, while Clara continued wasting money. Once home, Clara’s jealousy shifted toward my marriage—she openly flirted with Ethan and claimed he would be better off with her. My mother backed her, worsening the conflict. At a strained family dinner, Clara announced she wanted my husband, and my mother supported her. Enraged, I refused to give in. That’s when my father, slowly recovering, stepped in and warned Clara he would cut her off if she went after Ethan. He apologized to me for his past mistakes and later handed me his will, naming me as the sole heir.

When I left that night, I finally felt acknowledged—my father had chosen me. With Ethan at my side, I promised myself I would never again allow my mother or sister to take what belonged to me.
