Suddenly, he slowed down, thinking, “I’m too old for this,” and pulled over.

The officer approached and said, “Sir, my shift ends in 10 minutes. Today’s Friday, and I’m heading off for a weekend vacation. If you give me a very good reason—one I’ve never heard—for driving so fast, I might let it slide.”

The man thought for a moment and said, “Years ago, my wife eloped… with a police officer. When I saw you chasing me, I thought you were bringing her back.”
