A nun and a priest were crossing the Sahara Desert on a camel.
On the third day, the camel suddenly collapsed and died.

They stared at the vast desert in silence.

“Well, Sister,” the priest finally said, “this looks grim. I don’t think we’ll survive more than a day or two.”

“I agree,” she replied.

After a pause, the priest added, “Since we’re unlikely to make it out alive, may I ask something… personal?”

“Under the circumstances, go ahead,” the nun said.

Later, the nun asked a question of her own. After hearing the priest’s explanation, her eyes lit up.

“So you’re saying,” she said thoughtfully, “that if it’s placed in the right spot, it can give life?”

“Yes, Sister,” the priest replied.

She looked at the camel, then back at him and said,
“Then stop explaining and put it where it belongs—we’re not walking out of here.”
