How they keep their days interesting.

People often ask retirees how we keep our days interesting.
Well, the other day, my wife Mary and I went into town and stopped by a shop. When we came out, we noticed a police officer writing a parking ticket.
I walked up and said, “How about giving a senior citizen a break?” He ignored me and kept writing. So I called him a “meanie.” That made him glare at me—and he started writing another ticket for worn-out tires. Mary added her two cents and called him a “grump.” He finished the second ticket, put it on the windshield with the first, and then began writing even more tickets.
This went on for about 20 minutes—the more we teased, the more he wrote.
Finally, our bus arrived, and we went home. Since retiring, we make it a point to enjoy a little fun every day—it really matters at our age.
