My Boss Told Me to Babysit Her Kids or Lose My Job – I Said Yes, but She Never Expected What Happened Next

My boss, Harper, thought she could control me with an ultimatum: babysit her kids or lose my job. She’d been overstepping for months—dumping errands, personal problems, and late-night tasks on me while calling it “teamwork.”

What she didn’t know was that I’d accepted a new job that very morning.

So I agreed to babysit, then messaged her: I was resigning Monday, and her ex-husband Lucas was picking up the girls. He’d been fighting for more time with them, and Harper had made it nearly impossible.

I left her a note saying I was a marketing assistant, not her personal servant, and walked out. Then I blocked her.

Two weeks later, I started at a healthy workplace with real boundaries.
Lesson: When a boss wants control more than teamwork, the smartest move is leaving.
