Jokingly, I called out, \u201cHey, your TV dad\u2019s on!\u201d But my son\u2019s face went pale. Before he could respond, my wife started coughing and asked him to get her some water. Instead, he turned to me and said, \u201cIt\u2019s time you knew the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"474\" data-end=\"602\">He revealed that the man on TV had once been my wife\u2019s boyfriend\u2014and that when he was little, she\u2019d take him along to see him.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"604\" data-end=\"838\">My wife broke down in tears. She confessed it had been a short-lived affair during a difficult time in our marriage. She felt lonely, and I had been buried in work. When someone well-known paid her attention, she got swept up in it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"927\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">I was devastated.
