When something major happens in a family, tough decisions often have to be made. One of our readers recently faced a heartbreaking challenge just as she was beginning her new life as a wife. On her wedding night, a crisis changed everything.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s Cassie\u2019s story:
My 16-year-old stepson was in a car accident the night of our wedding. He\u2019s in intensive care but stable. My husband decided to cancel our honeymoon. I argued, \u201cHe didn\u2019t die!\u201d but he was firm, so I went alone. While there, I saw a selfie on Facebook taken by my stepson from his hospital bed\u2014my husband and his ex-wife were smiling beside him, like they were one happy family. I felt my anger rising.<\/p>\n

I tried calling my husband 11 times, but he didn\u2019t answer or respond to my texts for five days. I was devastated; what should have been the happiest days of my life as a new bride became a nightmare. Before we married, he told me I was the most important person to him. But during this trip alone, I realized I meant nothing to him compared to his son and ex-wife.<\/p>\n
