My Family Called Me Selfish for Refusing to Fund My Brother\u2019s Life<\/strong><\/p>\n

For years, I paid my brother\u2019s expenses, bought his first car, and housed him whenever he lost a job.<\/p>\n

Then, shortly after I had my second child, my parents asked me to pay for his dream wedding. I finally said no. My children\u2019s needs had to come first.<\/p>\n

Last week, my brother planned a business trip while his wife planned a vacation. Without asking, they decided I would babysit their child.<\/p>\n

When I refused, they called me selfish and greedy. My sister-in-law even blamed me for his job troubles.<\/p>\n

But their plans don\u2019t automatically become my responsibility.<\/p>\n

I love my nephew, but my brother needs to arrange his own childcare and manage his own finances.<\/p>\n
