Our new neighbor, Brooke, demanded complete silence from 8 to 9 every morning for yoga. She even told the neighborhood children they were no longer allowed to play outside.<\/p>\n

One Saturday, nineteen kids and fourteen adults gathered peacefully in the public cul-de-sac. The children rode bikes and drew with chalk while Brooke accused us of harassment.<\/p>\n

Then her husband, Walter, surprised everyone. He picked up a piece of chalk and joined the children, telling Brooke, \u201cYou call it humiliation whenever someone doesn\u2019t do what you want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooke later filed a noise complaint, but the neighborhood association explained that normal daytime activity on a public street was allowed.<\/p>\n

After speaking with her therapist, Brooke began practicing yoga outside while the children played. Eventually, she stopped demanding silence and even taught them handstands.<\/p>\n
