My Neighbor Painted My Fence Without Permission\u2014So I Gave Him a Colorful Surprise<\/p>\n

Rodgers had tried to control my property since I moved in, complaining about everything from my trash cans to my basketball hoop\u2014even though he wasn\u2019t on the HOA board.<\/p>\n

But he went too far when I returned from vacation and found my dark cedar fence painted beige. Rodgers proudly admitted doing it because my fence \u201cdidn\u2019t match the neighborhood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead of arguing, I checked the HOA rules and discovered there were no restrictions on fence colors or murals. After receiving approval, I designed a mural featuring colorful fences, bright birds, and the words: \u201cDifferent homes. One neighborhood.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
