Patricia Krentcil went viral in 2012 after being charged with child endangerment. Readers may in fact know her better by another name, \u201cTan Mom,\u201d as she was obsessed with going to the tanning salon and spending time in the booth five days a week.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eventually, the controversial phenomenon called tanerexia \u2013 where one doesn\u2019t realize or accept just how much color they have \u2013 almost took Patricia\u2019s life. Now, she\u2019s doing much better, though she still goes to the salon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Patricia Krentcil, her obsession took her to viral fame. When she was younger, she started to engage in tanning, and it quickly became a big part of her life. In 2012, Patricia became a phenomenon on the internet after she stood trial for taking her daughter with her to the tanning salon. She was never convicted, but her name was now out there.<\/p>\n

Today, she takes a healthier approach to tanning, but her time in the tanning booth has greatly affected her life and appearance.<\/p>\n

Patricia\u2019s tanning obsession began when she was just 23 years old. The New Jersey woman was \u2013 according to the owner of City Tropics tanning salon in Nutley, New Jersey \u2013 averaging five visits a week for a maximum session of 12 minutes. She had an unlimited monthly plan of $100.<\/p>\n
