7 Employees Open up about the Worst Bosses

I was five months pregnant when I started having sharp stomach pains. Scared, I drove myself to the ER and called my boss, but he didn’t believe me.

“You’re faking it. Don’t bother with a doctor’s note—I know what you’re up to,” he said.

At the hospital, a doctor told me something strange: a man claiming to be my father wanted access to my medical records. I froze. “My father died a year ago.”

Suddenly, the door burst open. My boss stormed in, red-faced, shouting, “She’s faking it! Call 911!”

My husband rushed in, shoved him away, and yelled, “You’re going to pay for this!” He called 911, and the police arrested my boss on the spot. Later, we learned he’d been hiding fraudulent accounting records at work. He was fired and had to leave the country to avoid charges.

Karma served cold.

Workplaces can feel like full-on drama shows—full of betrayal, chaos, and moments that make you scream or cheer. Here’s to surviving the madness, because any office could turn into a sitcom… or a soap opera.
