Jill Biden Highlights Melania Trump’s Departure from First Lady Traditions

We’re on the cusp of an influential change in U.S. leadership, and there’s a lot of chatter about what this means for the traditions surrounding the roles of the First Ladies.
Donald Trump is slated to take up the presidency once more come January 20th, and with that, Melania Trump returns as the First Lady. However, Jill Biden, who is stepping down from that position, has voiced some concerns about certain traditions that seem to have been skipped.
As Jill Biden reflected on her life in the White House, she shared her perspective on this vital transition. She had extended an invitation to Melania Trump for a tea reception at the White House as part of the gracious traditions typical during a changeover in the administration. Yet, Melania’s absence at this customary event didn’t go unnoticed. Jill decided to write a letter meant for Donald Trump, with the message intended for Melania, congratulating her and offering a helping hand.
