My 7-Year-Old Drew a Picture of My Husband with Another Woman and Wrote, ‘I Can’t Wait for You to Be My Mom’

When I found my 7-year-old daughter’s drawing, my heart shattered.
It showed my husband, Jack, our daughter Mia… and another woman — Mia’s teacher — holding hands with them.
Underneath, Mia had written: “Can’t wait for you to be my mom.”

I confronted Jack, shaking. He looked terrified.
“Come with me,” he said, driving us straight to Mia’s school.
There, her teacher, Clara, gently explained that Mia had been struggling — that she missed me.
I’d been buried in work and my sick mother’s care, while Jack kept things running at home.
Mia had drawn Clara not out of betrayal — but longing.

That night, I cried with Mia in my arms.
“I thought you didn’t like me anymore,” she whispered.
My world stopped.

Since then, I’ve changed. Fewer hours at work, more “Mom and Mia” nights — baking, movies, messy forts.
And every time she picks up her crayons now, I sit beside her.
Because sometimes, love doesn’t need words — just presence.
